Pendine Speed weekend 22nd June 2013
Due to a sudden change in my personal circumstances I have suddenly found myself with a future as a widower, not something I had ever contemplated happening at least not at the age I am at the moment.. one sudden episode and your life changes for ever... I'm am currently at a total loss and still very confused but with the help and prompting from my good mate and fellow Pantherista Sumo i have a goal to aim for, the first Pendine speed weekend.. I am going to build the Saltster to run at Pendine, I have already been given the go-ahead by the organisers the superb Pendine Land Speed Club, so it is game on, this is going to be my therapy to help me through the difficult and dark next few months but I'm also doing it as a tribute to my late wife Hayley, she has the middle name Tonia after Sir Donald Campbells wife so a LSR attempt at the historic Pendine Sands seems like the perfect tribute..
I will try and keep you up to speed on here but I am finding the computer both a blessing and a curse at the moment...
RIP Hayley Tonia Veness, Wife, Lover, Soul Mate and best friend, our journey was cut short, but the road we had travelled was a trip I would repeat again and again... will miss you so much as you were over half of my being and the reason I used to keep on keeping on when the going got tough.. love you always. Shaun

Long time coming!!!
Jeezzzz its been nearly a year since I last posted on here. Been busy working on the pop and keeping my daily driver Land Rover and Bobcat the Panther on the road. Had a blast at this years Hotrod Hayride, if you ain't been BOY are you missing out... just don't expect to see to many bling machines as they are kept firmly out of sight.. this is purily a nostalgia event..
Bobcat was allowed to park with the cool boy's out front of the pavilion as well... Hit the dirt for the hill climb even posting the slowest time of the day for the bikes, may even have been the slowest time full stop but the blast I had wrestling a heavy weight Panther in the dirt was undescribable and well worth it, hope they have the hillclimb again next year....

Little Panther
Well this old girl has been sitting patiently for quite awhile now but will hopefully move up the line once the Cochise is completed.. The plan is to build a minimalist greenlaner/trials machine. I will probably fit lights on a total loss system so I can get home if caught out. But other than that nothing that isn't needed will be fitted.....
Slowly Slowly catchy Monkey...
Christ its been a slow year this year for bike and hotrod building... just seem to spend so much time at work trying to keep all the ever growing bills paid which doesn't leave enough time to really get your teeth into serious building.... plus when the sun shines I do love sitting in my garden with a bottle of red...........
Took a trip to the Goodwood breakfast club yesterday and had a wander amongst some weird, some wonderful and some bloody gorgeous machines. Spotted a real nice Panther M75 Stroud for sale which has inspired me with my own rigid M65 build.... a chap arrived in a homebuilt guzzi engined 3 wheeler which really got me salivating.. and there were some very cool pickups both home market and yankee and I have to say the Vauxhall Velox (with the Stroud Panther in the back) was the cream of the selection for me...

Well the blues kicked back in and little has progressed !!! but Cochise is now back home and on the ramp and work has started on foot pegs etc. The plan to have her running before the Bo'ness hillclimb has fallen through and now the new target is the spring which gives me time to work out the clutch arrangements etc... sorry the progress is slow but I have been playing with Bobcat the Panther as well in my limited spare time!!!
